Hiring Under Buy A Rent Roll

Rent Roll Broker.

Build a national brokerage practice under an established rent roll brand.

Buy A Rent Roll is expanding across Australia. We’re looking for serious, ambitious real estate professionals to step into specialist rent roll brokerage — backed by an established brand, multi-state licensing, and direct access to the broader Tarsi Taylor Way ecosystem.

Australia-wide · 5 states + 3 in progress Independent contractor Commission-based · uncapped Existing real estate licence required

Specialist work. National reach. Backed by industry authority.

If you’ve built your career in real estate and you’re ready to move into specialist transactional work, this is one of the few roles in the country that opens that door — without you having to build the infrastructure, the brand, the network, or the multi-state licensing yourself.

Buy A Rent Roll is the dedicated marketplace and transaction pathway for rent roll buyers and sellers across Australia. We work with serious business owners on the most consequential transactions of their careers — the sale, acquisition, exit, or growth play that defines what their next chapter looks like. The work is high-stakes, specialist, evidence-based, and built on judgement that takes years to develop.

And we’re expanding.

BARR currently operates with real estate licences in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia, with Tasmania, ACT, and Northern Territory in progress. That’s genuine national reach — and rare. There are very few rent roll brokerages in Australia operating with this kind of multi-state footprint. For the right broker, that means access to deal flow that simply isn’t available working state-by-state.

This isn’t a property management role. It isn’t a sales role. It isn’t a generic business broking role. It’s specialist rent roll brokerage — and we’re looking for people serious enough to step into it properly.

What you get when you partner with BARR.

Most independent brokers spend years building the brand, the network, the licensing infrastructure, and the credibility before they can consistently win serious mandates. Working under BARR, that work is already done.

Established brand & industry authority

  • Buy A Rent Roll is a known and trusted name in Australian rent roll transactions
  • Founded by Tarsi Taylor — one of the most recognised voices in the rent roll industry, host of The Rent Roll Queen Podcast, and founder of REBOC
  • You walk into client conversations with credibility built over years — not from scratch

National multi-state licensing

  • Already licensed across QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, and WA
  • TAS, ACT, and NT in progress
  • You can transact across borders without building the licensing yourself

Direct access to The Tarsi Taylor Way ecosystem

  • Independent valuation support for any deal you’re working on (Westpac & St.George valuation panels)
  • Senior due diligence expertise behind every transaction
  • Performance audit and strategic advisory for clients who need pre-listing work
  • The 3,000+ matters and $21B+ in rent roll value evidence base, available to your deals

Systems, processes, and deal flow

  • Established systems and processes for managing buyer enquiries, listings, and transactions
  • Existing buyer and seller network already actively engaged with BARR
  • Marketing and brand reach that drives qualified inbound leads

Mentorship and senior support

  • Direct access to Tarsi Taylor’s thinking, judgement, and network
  • The kind of broker development that’s usually impossible to get without paying for it
  • Genuine alongside-the-CEO exposure to how senior decisions get made
Most brokers spend years trying to build what BARR already has. This is the shortcut — for the right person who’s ready to use it.

What you’ll actually be doing.

Specialist rent roll brokerage is its own discipline — and the work is more strategic, more relationship-driven, and more consequential than typical real estate roles. You’ll be operating at the deal-shaping level on transactions that often define the next chapter of someone’s business life.

Working with sellers

  • Listing and positioning rent rolls for sale
  • Strategic positioning of portfolios to attract qualified buyers
  • Coordinating with TTW for valuation, due diligence preparation, and sale-readiness work
  • Managing the seller relationship through every stage of the transaction

Working with buyers

  • Managing buyer enquiries and qualifying serious acquirers
  • Matching qualified buyers with the right rent roll opportunities
  • Supporting buyers through review, offer, and negotiation

Driving deals to completion

  • Negotiating commercial and structural terms between buyers and sellers
  • Coordinating settlement, contracts, and retention strategy
  • Managing the critical handover period that determines whether deals actually complete

Building your practice

  • Cultivating relationships across the real estate industry in your region(s)
  • Building a referral network of agency owners, lenders, and advisors
  • Establishing yourself as a specialist within the rent roll space

Who this is actually for.

This isn’t a role for someone who needs structure handed to them, leads delivered on a plate, or a salary while they figure things out. It’s for serious operators who can run their own practice under an established brand — and who are ready to put in the work to build something significant.

You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Hold an existing real estate licence in at least one of QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, or WA (or are licensed elsewhere and willing to obtain)
  • Have meaningful real estate experience — property management leadership, BDM, sales, principal, or related
  • Genuinely understand rent rolls, how they generate value, and how agencies operate at a business level
  • Are commercially confident and comfortable working directly with business owners on consequential decisions
  • Want to specialise in transactional work rather than operate across multiple real estate disciplines
  • Can work independently, take full ownership of your pipeline, and operate without close management
  • Are motivated by outcomes, deal flow, and uncapped earning potential
  • Are financially positioned to ride out the ramp-up period that any commission-based contractor role requires

If you’ve been doing real estate well and you’re ready to specialise — if you’ve looked at brokerage and thought *"that’s where I’d add real value"* — this is the role to apply for.

A career-defining opportunity.

There aren’t many roles in Australian real estate where you can build a national specialist practice without first having to build the brand, the licensing, the network, and the credibility yourself. This is one of them.

Rent roll brokerage as a discipline is genuinely different to general real estate work. The deals are bigger, the timelines are longer, the relationships go deeper, and the work compounds. A broker with three years of strong rent roll experience and a good network is in a position that very few agency salespeople or property managers ever reach — high-value transactions, senior client relationships, and a reputation that travels.

Buy A Rent Roll is the platform that gets you there faster. With BARR, you’re not starting from zero. You’re stepping into an established brand, with multi-state licensing, with The Tarsi Taylor Way ecosystem behind every deal, and with direct access to one of the most recognised voices in the rent roll industry.

The role is commission-based and the ramp-up requires patience — but the upside is genuine. For a broker who can perform, this is the kind of role that builds a long-term position and an income that reflects the work.

How to apply.

If this is the right next step for you, please send through the following:

  • Resume & Licence Details

A current resume outlining your real estate experience, plus the state(s) in which you hold a real estate licence and your licence number.

  • Cover Letter

A short cover letter explaining your real estate background, why rent roll brokerage specifically, and what you bring to a specialist transactional role.

  • 2 to 3 Minute Video

A short video covering: why this role appeals to you, how you operate independently and manage your own pipeline, and a specific example of a significant deal, relationship, or outcome you’ve been responsible for in real estate.

We ask for the video because broker work is relationship work. Communication style, presence, and how you carry yourself in conversations matter. We want to see how you operate before we sit down in person. Keep it natural and unscripted.
